Possible Canada Post Job Action – September 2018

Update 10/18/2018: The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has announced a 72-hour strike notice with job action commencing Monday, October 22nd, 2018. At this time job action seems to be planned to be rotating and while causing delays should not affect the ability of the delivery service. We will continue to offer Canada Post shipping options until such time that job action results in a stoppage of work. At that time, we will stop all mail shipments and remove the options again.

Update 09/26/2018: At this time there has been no indication of Job action happening in the coming days. We have decided to reactivate Canada Post shipping options until such time that job action has been announced. At that time, we will stop all mail shipments and remove the options again.

At Coincards.ca we rely on Canada Post for all outbound shipments to our customers. We offer a wide range of shipping options from free letter mail delivery to next day priority services.

Unfortunately, due to the inability of Canada Post to reach an agreement with its workers, Canada Post is facing possible job action starting on Sept. 26, 2018. As a result, orders which are scheduled to ship might be delayed.

How this affects our customers:

  • Coincards.ca will continue to offer Free Shipping on all physical card orders over $100. These orders will continue to mail out as normal until work action commences. Once work action has been confirmed or started, Coincards.ca will continue to offer this service but will hold all outbound mail until Canada Post service resumes. Customers will have the option to purchase alternative shipping methods if your order becomes part of the outbound holding queue.
  • Coincards.ca will immediately remove Canada Post’s Expedited, Xpresspost and Priority services until an agreement is reached between Canada Post and their employees.
  • Coincards.ca is currently working to add Fedex as an alternative shipping method and will start offering this option to our customers in place of Canada Post’s tracked shipping options as soon as implemented.

We appreciate your patience and will continue to closely monitor the situation between Canada Post and their employees.
